Phil Niles, Hedge Fund Professional

Phil Niles, MBA, CAIA is currently a Vice President at Mitsubishi UFJ Fund Services, a leading alternative investment fund administrator with more than $150 billion under administration.  Prior to joining the firm, he was a portfolio manager specializing in event-driven strategies.

His written work has been featured in a wide variety of periodicals across North America, Europe, and Asia on the subject of alternative investments, including Canadian Hedge Watch, EurekaHedgeReuters HedgeWorld, International Custody and Fund Administration, FINalternatives, COO Connect, Asia Asset Management, Global Custodian, The Asset, Financial IT, and Structured Products.  An authority on alternative investments, he has also been cited in publications such as Forbes, Bloomberg, Hedge Funds Review, Opalesque, International Securities Services, Hedge Fund Law Report, RFP Connect, Proformative, Markets Media, Asset International, and Advanced Trading.  He is a frequent guest lecturer on hedge funds and alternative investments at Wilfrid Laurier University in the institution's distinguished School of Business and Economics.

In addition to undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, financial management, and accounting, he has completed additional coursework through the Canadian Securities Institute and the London School of Journalism.  He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
